Sundai Hack 139 - AI Agents That Adapt and Evolve with Wolfram Research

"To what extent can AI agents adapt in response to their environments?

This hack is about evolution and adaptation in AI agents: agents that change through variation, selection, and inheritance, the same mechanism behind evolution in biology.

The challenge: build an agent, or a population of them, that keeps adapting through contact with an environment, such as feedback, selection pressure, or other agents adapting alongside it.

A few directions that might be interesting:

Feedback-driven adaptation
Artificial natural selection
Co-evolving populations
Open-ended agent ecosystems
Agents whose goals or purposes drift over time

The aim is not merely to train an agent once, but to create a system that keeps changing after deployment—and to observe what it becomes.
